At the Annual General Meeting held on Thursday 6th October, a new Committee has been elected and installed for the 2016 – 2017 Season as follows:

Acting Director – Tony Traxler,  Technical Director – Neil Hopkins, Secretary – Vivienne English, Treasurer – Trevor Woodham, Public Relation Officers – Christina Balmer & Clare Pengelley, Membership Secretary – Freddie Mauwer,  Without Portfolio – Hazel Collinson & Adam Kimmel

Congratulations to the new team and we trust that members will support them in the coming season


After the fantastic success of The Magic of Gershwin, preparations are now in hand for our November production at Questors Studio theatre November 22 to 26.

Open auditions will be held between 2 pm and 4 pm on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd July at Director Peter Woods’ home: 27 Ashchurch Grove, W12 9BT.  If you cannot manage either date but want to take part please ring Peter on 020 8749 0633 and he will make alternative arrangements

Rehearsals will begin with a full reading on Thursday 1st September at 7.30 pm at our rehearsal venue:  The Friendship Club, Age Concern Chiswick,  Oxford Road North, W4 4DN

In addition, we will need someone to take charge of Wardrobe and Properties so if you would like to be involved in a non-active capacity and enjoy the buzz and thrill of being pat of a production, do get in touch with Peter at the above number.  We look forward to hearing from you.



Singers and Dancers required 
for a new production, GERSHWIN, featuring the songs of George and Ira Gershwin. Written and directed by Hazel Collinson and choreographed by Christina Balmer, the show will run the week commencing 16th May 2016 at the Questors Studio Theatre, Ealing. 

Rehearsals will be on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons through March and April. 
So if you are a keen singer or dancer (or both!) please come along to the auditions on  Sunday  24th January from 2.30 – 5pm at The Friendship Club, Age Concern, Oxford Road North, W4 4DN. 
Singers, bring sheet music if you would like to or just come with a song in your head. Everyone please wear suitable footwear and clothing to move in.

No Christmas party this year sadly, but we have arranged two play readings before Christmas:

Gillian Jacyna is organising this and they are being held on our traditional Thursday evenings 10th December and 17th December at 730 pm The Friendship Club, Age Concern, Oxford Road North, Chiswick, W4

You will be provided with refreshments and cakes and mince pies  so you don’t need to starve!   If you need something stronger than feel free to bring a bottle of fermented grape juice !

November Production

Hello playmates and interested friends,
Hope you are all enjoying your Summer break (if you have one)
Just to let you know that we will be reconvening Thursday 3rd September at 7.30 pm at our usual  venue The Friendship Club to read excerpts of Shelagh Stephenson’s ‘The Memory of Water’ which Hazel Collinson, (our intrepid Acting Director) would like to direct for our November production, 10 – 14 November at The Questors Studio Theatre, Ealing, W5
Auditions for the play will take place one week later:  Thursday September 10th, 7.30 pm.  (M2: 30s, any age, F4: 30s-40s), same venue at Oxford Road North, Chiswick, W4
Everyone, even if you are not (yet) a member is very welcome to attend both events.
If you happen to have a copy of the play, please bring with you at the reading.

Pleased to let you know that members present the last choice meeting voted overwhelmingly to present Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest as our May production at the Questors.   Peter Woods will be directing and will be holding open auditions on

THURSDAY 5th February at 7.30 pm 

Age Concern Chiswick, Oxford Road North, Chiswick, W4 4DN

Because of time constraints Peter would like to do a first read through of the play on Sunday afternoon 8 February at 3 pm at the same venue.

The play is due to be performed the first week in May (Bank Holiday week)  5th to 9th, with a matinee on the Saturday at Questors Studio theatre.

Peter will be working from the Samuel French (3 Act version) edition.
